Music Video Tropes/Memes

The song by Blink182 called All The Small Things was released in 2000 and had scenes on a beach where they made a parody of different music video tropes for pop singers. Such as one of the singers (Tom Delonge) wearing a blonde wig and acting all sweet and innocent and then running in slow motion across the beach in fairly little clothing. Another was them being in a black and white filter, hugging eachother together while they sing. It continues to show these tropes and make them look very silly so we laugh but a lot of people clearly do enjoy these tropes as One Direction actually do use the beach scene from this, whether it was intentional or not I do not know but it's done seriously with the girl running across the beach etc, it's even done on the exact same beach as you can tell from the same rocks in the background; 
It is very typical of Pop Punk to try to be funny and strange, they don't necessarily have much of a specific trope of their own other than being funny and crazy really.
